Favourite Autumn Candles
A crisp Autumn Day. The sound of crunching leaves below your boots. The smell of wood and smoke in the countryside as you go for a stroll in the forest. Soaked pine leaves. Dipping toes in the bathtub, the bubbles cascading over and enveloped in the glow and warmth of your favourite candles.
This is Autumn.
Love Candles? Love Autumn? Me too! I've handpicked some festive allergen-friendly scented candles.
I'm an Autumn/Winter baby. I crave the autumn as it peeks through the trees as the leaves turn from green to red, yellows and oranges. As the mood in the air changes, I crave those cosy evenings and relish in the coming colder months—a bath every night, cosy get-togethers, heartier foods. And, of course, lighting my favourite candles as I work and wind down in the evenings.
I love a spiced orange, cinnamon and/or clove. Something that preps me for Christmas and reminds me of the nostalgia of the Autumn season and festive foods cooking in the oven.
I'm sensitive to certain smells and allergic to geraniol, so I found it difficult to find candles that didn't have an artificial or overpowering scent.
Over the years and trying many different candles, I have narrowed them down to a few. The candles I love are mildly scented and completely natural from smaller independent companies, which is always a bonus!
I found that finding candles with real pieces of fruit or the real-life version of the scent is the best for me.
Where to get the candles
So here are a few of my favourite candles I use: organic, natural, lightly fragranced and allergen-friendly.
Eco Soy Wax Candle Hand Made Cloves by Munio Candela - I love that this has real pieces of clove sprinkled throughout.
Spiced Orange Soy Candle by Willow & Honey - This has my favourite kind of wick - a wood wick. It flickers and crackles like a fireplace.
