How To Organise Your Google Chrome Tabs
I love a good declutter. This is no exception: a seemingly small organisation tool but with a significant impact on keeping you focused.
Open Google Chrome - a new window will pop up
Type in your first web address
To open a new tab, press the “+” next to your already open tab or type ⌘ + T
(n.b. ⌘ + n is a new window)
To group tabs together, click on one of the tabs + ⌘ + all tabs you want to include in your group.
Tip: If you have a lot of tabs to the group, press on the first tab to select, go to the last you want to group, press Shift + ⌘ + click to select them all at once.
Right-click on any of the tabs you have selected
Click on “add tabs to group”
Select “new group”
Type in the group title in the “name this group” box and colour code it to your preference.
Repeat as many times as you like!
If you close your window/all tabs by accident
Note: I keep my Chrome open to avoid losing my tab system, even when I shut down my computer. However, if you accidentally close your tabs by mistake, you can retrieve them by:
Click on History at the top of the screen
If applicable, you will see a greyed-out “Recently Closed” subheading
Locate where it says (#Tabs) with a right-facing arrow to the right and hover over it
In the new window that pops up, click on “Restore All Tabs”
Et Voila! Crisis averted!
