March Favourites

A roundup of things that brought me joy in March.

  • Classic fm - A great way to wind down or soothe the work environment or morning routine.

  • BBC Radio 2 - Especially Elaine Paige on Sunday 12:00-14:00. Elaine plays music from musical theatre, exploring some of the most powerful, influential characters in this genre. If you adore musicals or going to the theatre then you’ll love this! I’m currently listening to “Can You Imagine That” by Emily Blunt from the new Mary Poppins Returns. They also played “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid. You really have no idea how much I look forward to this Sunday routine every week!!

  • Simon Smith Hairdresser - Having just moved to the countryside part-time, I wanted to explore my new local equivalents for self-care. I found this charming little hairdresser that makes me feel like I’m in a dolls house.

  • Rhythm 108 Tea Biscuit Coconut Cookies - Addictive gluten-free snacks.

  • Chocolate mousse. I learnt the recipe from some friends after I ate it at a dinner party they hosted.

  • Daylesford Kingham flower shop - All grown on site, they only sell what’s in season.

  • Aran of Canelle et Vanille’s gf chocolate molten cakes.

  • Headspace - I try and meditate twice a day, sometimes for specific things. I don’t give myself a hard time if I don’t get round to it. Remember to be gentle when changing a habit or trying to stick to a routine.

  • Centr - A workout app that suits my needs perfectly. I love my local gym in London, but after my move to the country, I struggled to find a good gym near me. This app has changed everything. The workouts are curated to suit your level and have meals tailored to any dietary requirements you may have. They have many types of exercises from boxing to HIIT to yoga and pilates and more. I am also a bit of a food snob, having been lucky enough to experience the most fantastic flavour combinations from all over the world. I, therefore, find it hard when healthier food options are bland and basic. A girl needs her pancakes and Japanese sushi bowls, and this app doesn’t compromise on taste or classic favourites! I also love that they have various meditations throughout the day and interesting podcasts and articles. I might do a blog post about this app. If you are interested let me know in the comments.

  • Later - This has changed the way I Instagram. I plan everything a month in advance which saves me a lot of time and energy and helps me stay on-brand.

  • Hellebores - One of my favourite flowers.

  • Fawlty Towers - I grew up with this, and love having it on in the background when I’m working.

  • Eucalyptus Oil - I sprinkle this on the carpet.

  • Allbirds - (see my post about them here).
