Hikarui - An Exploration of Life Improvement and Becoming Me Again

Hikarui - An Exploration of Life Improvement and Becoming Me Again

So here we are! Hikarui 2.0. My life’s work coming to fruition. I’m nervous and excited because I have a lot to offer.

So what’s it all about?

I always felt like an outsider looking in. I spent my life feeling lost and misunderstood. I lacked confidence because of this and survived by adapting according to who I was with.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that doesn't support or celebrate (and therefore I will be exploring):

  • emotional people

  • highly sensitive people

  • creative and non-linear thinking

  • slowing down

  • listening to your body over your mind

No wonder I found it so difficult to find the right resources and tools to help me.

I found myself constantly asking:

  • Why don’t conventional methods of studying, working, thinking etc. work for me when it did for everyone else?

  • Why did I struggle at school when I knew I was smart and creative?

  • Why did people (including friends and family) tell me I was too emotional or sensitive and to "stop" and turn it off? How rude.

  • Why was working smarter, not harder, revered? Surely, being stressed and working hard wasn't a sustainable way of living?

  • Why did clickbait never work for me?

  • Why have I tried everything successful people have said works for them, but it doesn't for me?

  • Why is being myself so damn hard?

  • And more.

Determined to change my lifestyle and figure out who I really was, I sought to find a way to demystify the world we live in. A world that doesn't see or hear the needs of creatives and highly sensitive people who walk the road less travelled. I refused to be left behind anymore.

I wanted to help everyone, knowing that things can get better, having experienced it. But you can't tell people to change or force it on them. They have to want to. And the best way to show them is to show up as who you are. This is partly the reason I concepted Hikarui. Because I didn't know how to be myself, it was and still is a long ongoing painful and enlightening journey.

All I can do is live by example, the good and the bad and leave a trail of breadcrumbs for you.

I always believed that there is no one way to do things, nor does one thing work for everyone. We are all unique. I wanted to show people how to honour that by honouring it myself. I haven't got it all figured out and may never do so. But there are many beautiful ways to improve and simplify your lifestyle. You also deserve the very best environment to support that.

Even as I write this - I struggle to find the right words as I am still finding out who I am and my purpose. Clarity doesn't come easily to me, and as a perfectionist, I'm constantly tweaking. So, part of my journey is being kinder to that part of me.

Hikarui is this journey. A gentle reminder that we are all doing our best day in day out. I won't lie. It's by no means an easy road. But, I hope that you will find a way to improve your life with the breadcrumbs of life experience I leave behind.

I genuinely hope to pave a kinder and more gentle road for others like me to save you time, money and energy. I am happy to endure the painful process so that hopefully, you don't have to.
