Sundari

Some of my favourite portraits that Sundari has taken of me.

Sundari is a fashion + intimate event photographer based and working in London and Europe. Her work is inspired by authentic visual artistry and uses 35mm and medium format film for her process. Focusing on the beauty of intimate she tries to tell a story on softness, femininity and vulnerable strength.

Her previous careers involved years in event production, event design and teaching workshops in visual branding and styling, empowerment and finding a creative path. She has worked with brands such as COS, Laura Ashley & charities such as Centre for Women’s Justice. Her favourite work is working with fellow women in the fashion industry, pulling together concepts and creating beautiful images.

As a South Asian, British woman she often finds herself on the outside of spaces she works within and this led her working hard on finding creating real friendships and understanding the need for representation within many communities. This passion led to co-founding Film Gathering, community analogue holidays for film photographers to share space and be themselves.

  • I can’t remember when we first met, but it was an age ago! Probably on Insta like most of my creative friends these days! :p I have worked with Sundari on passion projects, paid projects, personal project and everything in between. We would have creative day together. Sunni, in the countryside, me in London, and we would travel back an forth to see each other and spend all day chatting, crying, laughing, napping, creating, “cooking” (ordering/eating out) and more.

I have watched her grow from strength to strength, always being so so talented at everything she did and does. The day she told me she was pursuing photography full-time, I was like FINALLY!!!! :)

She’ so talented. The way she sees the world and brings romance and beauty into the world is something I marvel at constantly. Love you dear girl. x
