Manuela Mitevova | Healing In Motion

Yoga and mindful practice courses to rebalance the mind and body.

How I’ve used it

— I have always protected my heart for safety, and have a fear of abandonment. As a result - one of many, I don’t have the best posture and have weak shoulders, neck and peck muscles. Conventional stretching and exercises was too painful for me at this stage and I needed something more gentle to ease myself back in. This is coming from someone that was on almost every sports team growing up. So you can also imagine that going from exercising consistently to suddenly not (at uni when I also hit a depression), my physical body regressed and along with my mental health - and those things are very much intertwined. I would try to get my body health back on track but due to a build up of trapped trauma and unprocessed emotions amongst other things, I developed chronic pain and wasn’t able to do even the most basic strengthening exercises because of a flare up and migraine each time. I’ll talk more about this throughout Hikarui and the LBB but for now - the practices offered here are a great way to begin and ease yourself back into something in a really gentle way.

Hikarui is a lifestyle blog with a studio extension that offers an alternative take on “wellness” – one that is deeply inspired by Japanese essentialism and wabi sabi philosophy. It teaches readers how to create their own “getaway space” from modern stressors through diary-style prose and lifestyle advice that promotes “lightweight living.” The studio extension showcases Chikae O.H.’s illustrations and photography.
